Kangduo Cemented Carbide Attends Opening Ceremony of Ahno Group's Zhuzhou Blade Industrial Park on November 29, 2024
On November 29, 2024, Hebei Kangduo Cemented Carbide Products Co., Ltd. was honored to attend the grand opening ceremony of Ahno Group’s Zhuzhou Blade Industrial Park, located in the Xinma Industrial Park. The event marked a significant milestone in the cutting tool industry, showcasing Ahno Group’s commitment to innovation and high-quality manufacturing.
The Zhuzhou Blade Industrial Park, invested and constructed by Zhuzhou Ke’ernuo New Materials Co., Ltd. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Suzhou Ahno Precision Cutting Technology Co., Ltd.), represents a total investment of 500 million RMB. Covering an area of 82 acres, the park’s first phase includes a joint workshop, Ahno factory, R&D complex, warehouse, and hazardous chemical storage facility. Upon full completion, the park is expected to produce 72 million high-performance precision cutting inserts annually, with an annual output value exceeding 500 million RMB.
As a key player in the cemented carbide and CNC cutting tool sector, Kangduo’s participation highlighted its strong partnership with Ahno Group and its dedication to advancing the industry. The event also underscored the strategic importance of Ahno’s integration into Sandvik Group, a global leader in the cutting tool industry.
Following its acquisition by Sandvik in July 2024, Ahno now operates under Sandvik’s Manufacturing Solutions (SMS) division, with the Zhuzhou facility set to become one of Sandvik’s largest tool manufacturing bases in Asia.
During the ceremony, Ahno Group President Wu Zhiyong emphasized the park’s focus on high-end CNC inserts, targeting industries such as aerospace, automotive, and medical manufacturing. He projected the park’s output value to reach 500 million RMB initially, with long-term plans to expand to 800 million to 1 billion RMB.
Sandvik SMS President Nadine expressed her enthusiasm for the new facility, stating, “We open the doors of this new factory with hope and passion. This marks a new chapter for Ahno and will drive local economic development. With teamwork and determination, we are confident in achieving extraordinary success.”
The opening of the Zhuzhou Blade Industrial Park not only strengthens Ahno and Sandvik’s market positions but also accelerates the localization of high-end CNC inserts in China, reducing costs and enhancing efficiency for domestic manufacturers. The event was attended by over 10 senior executives from Sandvik Group, including the SMS President and SMS China President, reflecting the significance of this collaboration.
